An interesting week

So it has been for me.

Last Saturday I adopted the cat that is sitting on my lap as I post, purring like a 2-cycle engine. Head butt, purr, purr, paw. He's meowed once in five days, bit other than that he's settling in nicely and is a mega-sweetie. A little skittish and scaredy, still, but he knows where the food dish and litter box are and has started to follow me around the house.

Tuesday I went to a fundraiser for a Dem candidate for US Senate and came home to find my house had been broken in to. Nothing stolen, but the SOB made one hell of a mess of my front door, which is now boarded up for the nonce. Everything in my house that is of value is exceedingly heavy and conspicuous - not the sort of thing you can carry down the street unnoticed even if you could move it.

Wednesday night I just about take the end of my thumb off with a cheese knife.

And Thursday a good DU buddy (She knows who she is :hi: :hug: :yourock:) gets me my gold star.

I am almost afraid to contemplate what tomorrow might bring.
