Summer is over, and it's back to school time, which is a bummer. This is what I did this summer:

• I moved from Monroeville, PA to Irving, TX with two squalling, chewing and pooping cats in the car.
• I went back to Pittsburgh to attend my law school graduation.
• I drove back to Irving with my husband and sister and no pooping cats.
• I shopped like mad with my sister (but it's never enough).
• I adopted a beautiful, cute and sweet flame point Siamese mix kitty, Morrissey (named for my favorite singer).
• I went to bar review classes and studied for the bar exam.
• I took the Texas Bar Exam July 26th-28th.
• I went to Toronto, Canada to visit my husband's niece and cousins.
• I looked after the needs of my husband's cousins and their spoiled brat children for a weekend.
• Read. A LOT. No law books!!!!!!!!!!!!
• Ate a lot of ice cream!!
• Spent hours scraping cheap masking tape off the glass panels of a china hutch and pulling my remaining hair out in the process.

Before the summer truly ends, I will do the following:

• Drive to Wichita to visit friends.
• Turn 43.

1. Am I the only one who took a summer vacation?

2. my summer vacation will actually be in September..

I couldn't get off until then, but my daughter and I are going to Wyoming to spend a week with her dad and visit all the national parks up there.

4. Monroeville....

I spent many a summers in monroeville....

My mothers family is from Indiana PA and her brother lived in MV....

A lost youth....

I haven't thought about that plae in years....

5. we went to San Francisco for the first time!

it was great. We wish we could live there! Kid had his first plane trip. Went to City Lights bookstore!

Lots of time at the local pool.

Campout with kid - screaming kids all night long

Went to Chicago to meet some folks from DU. Chicago was great, too. Saw the Modern Art Museum and the Art Institute in the fine company of folks with serious hangovers. :)

Went to Cleveland to meet other folks from DU. Went to the stellar Art Museum there.

Actually met Pittsburgh Duers. I met a LOT of Duers this summer.

Worked, but not a lot. My husband bought me a bass for my birthday. That was cool.

Saw Elvis Costello! Saw Solomon Burke! Saw Rikki Lee Jones!

Redid my son's new room. Only took us, well, don't ask. Now we have to turn his old room into the guest room. God knows how long that will take. ;)

6. The girl child travels with two cats...one of which can be poopy.

We visited Spain, but the law school thing is so way cooler. ;)
