For Those Who've Never Clicked On The "How Quickly" Thread....

I'll summarize it for you.

It started out harmlessly enough with people posting to it to keep kicking it.

Then people started posting one word thread titles and making sentences out of it by replying to it over and over again.

And then when it got close to 1,000 people started to kick it just to get it there.

And of course, soem people just kicked it to up their post counts.

So that's that thread in a nutshell.

On broadband, in fact. I have no idea how long it would take to load on a dial-up account.

And I'm not talking "view all" or anything, just to load the original message, with all the replies linked. Last time I hit "view all" was a couple of weeks ago, and I ended up hitting "stop" on my browser because it was taking so long.

to me, any meaningful record would have to be on a thread that is (based on the issue) eliciting that level of interest in terms of posting-- i.e., a real issue that is provocative.

Nonetheless, it is all in fun and I'm happy to take part. But, all good things MUST come to an end.....
