Stupid question.
I just made macaroni and cheese. It's yellow.

Why is it yellow? What makes it that way?

2. I guess that would explain the pepper taste, too.
Thanks.

4. Hi there, my dear Floog!
It's yellow because the cheddar cheese is colored, artificially...

One of my most favorite dishes...

5. I asked Jeeves...
and he sent me to a website with these tidbits of info:

Q: WHAT IS THE NATURAL COLOR OF CHEESE?

A: The natural cheese color is a yellowish off white. The orange color is caused by an added cheese color which is extracted from the onatto seed.

Q: WHY IS THE NATURAL COLOR OF CHEESE MORE YELLOW IN THE SUMMER MONTHS?

A: When cows are grazing on grass in the pasture, the chlorophyll in the grass makes the milk a darker, off white. This in turn causes the cheese to be a more yellow color.

6. Because it's just chock-full of Krafty goodness.
And the cheese powder is coloured with traces of radioactive strontium-90. It's all part of a secret government plan to accustom people to higher levels of radiation, so the population survives a nuclear war.
