Tell us three things about yourself that people might find surprising.

1. I followed the Tanya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan saga minute by minute

2. I once dated someone famous (but don't ask me who, I won't tell the truth)

3. I am notorious for procrastinating

70. Three things you'd find surprising... hm-m-m... here's the list:
1. I really wish I'd been born a boy. (No, I'm not doing anything about it and I'm not a lesbian -- just curious how my life would have turned out differently.)

2. I think I could have been a good classical music conductor, if I had had the training.

3. I might have been more content if I had never married or had children. But, then again, I would have wondered what it would have been like to be married and have children!

and he lives in Oklahoma, so even though it is thoroughly red, I think it is a great state. (He is a lefty.)

I am caregive to my 93-year-old mother (someone comes to the house during the day).

67. That I can relate to
I have a low poop tolerance myself, although it has increased over the years. I used to be so bad that when I was changing diapers I'd have to run to the toilet to retch and/or barf at least once during the procedure. Now unless it is unnaturally foul I can usually make it through without my stomach heaving, given I change several poopy diapers a weekend at my weekend job.

80. Well, borlis, I lived in Florida for 28 years and it's VERY conducive to
skinny dipping and other kinds of dipping... if you know what I mean.

Not to belittle your achievements with your boyfriend (now hubby), we skinny dipped in broad daylight in our backyard pool in Massachusetts.

Also, we made love at the Grist Mill at the Wayside Inn, Sudbury, Massachusetts. At least, we tried to, until the miller caught us with our pants down and told us to get up and go home.

http://www.freefoto.com/preview.jsp?id=1212-11-3&k=Logfellows+Wayside+Inn+Grist+Mill%2C+Sudbury%2C+Massachusetts%2C+USA

We were off to the left, in the tall grass... somewhat concealed, but not really......

116. Naw, I'm just an over-the-top performer who draws attention to herself
at the drop of a hat. I'll give you an example.

My two young children and I met my husband at the airport gate (remember when you could do that before 09/11/01?) at Logan Airport in Boston. He had been away for several weeks on his sales manager job.

We arrived with balloons and wildflowers, and when we saw him coming into the terminal, we all started singing "Happy Birthday" at the top of our lungs. (Well, I was the loudest. The kids may not have been singing at all, but I didn't care.)

OK, now you know. It wasn't his birthday... he was mortified and I was thrilled! Everybody clapped and cheered. That was fun!

I'm a former children's show TV host and later, a talk radio professional and one of the first women to do that format. I used to do SOME of the things Howard Stern does... dating shows, sex fantasy stuff, just letting many things "hang out"... I talked about my personal life and discussed many "taboo" subjects.

Anyway, good luck to you and hubby. I married a sweet, straight, almost virginal engineer who does not stray. He keeps me on the right path.

Making peace a priority,

Radio_Lady

for the most part, cast off by me, at age 36.

I'm not really at all cynical.

Up until my 30's, I was so shy, and so un-confident, that even my voice was affected. On a regular basis, people would ask me to "speak up, please". One day I noticed that no one had felt the need to ask me to "talk a little louder" for quite some time. Weird, that.

I'm more the "To heck with the mainstream" sort. My clothes are tame but generally not "stylish". And if what I'm doing/saying/wearing/etc. isn't on the approved list I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I've tried pleasing other people and it got me nothing--pleasing myself has been much more profitable.

85. Not much that I haven't told....
I feel that people can learn from my mistakes...

But here are a few I don't think I have shared...

1) one the very first day I served as a page at the Ohio House, I got really stoned before going to work.... Mistake

2) I got really wasted one night and was dropped off at the apartment complex where I lived. All the buildings looked the same and I hadn't been at home for about four days, I think. Well when I found the apartment I thought was ours, it was empty. Even the phone was in the same place and same color. I freaked. All my stuff was gone. I honestly thought my roomies had finally gotten sick of my drinking and took off..... Now that was a hangover

3) I took a grey hound to Salem Oregon and gave a young mother some of my Jack Daniels to rub on her baby's sore gums....

95. There was this time
I worked in a family shelter on the graveyard shift. I had gotten stoned in the evening, figuring it would wear off by the time I had to go to work. Unfortunately it didn't, so I showed up at work still quite high. Of all times the regular evening person wasn't there. Instead the ultra-religious, uptight Big Cheese (my bosses boss) was there. The amazing thing was that he stood there two feet from me, had a ten minute conversation with me, and had not a clue that I was stoned.

Needless to say I never risked that again.

Then I also have a basic knowledge of neume notation (also called square notation or block notation) which is used for plain-chant which has two: the C clef and the F clef.

ever single response. I wouldn't ask the question if I didn't want an answer. :hi:

"I have attended college for years and never managed to get a degree."
Obviously, a) I have not had typing classes and b) am horribly unco-ordinated before coffee

152. Kindred spirits :)
I have this neat picture from my father - it is his 8th grade class picture. If you hold up my pic from 8th grade and his, one could be excused for thinking they were looking at twins. Our smile is even the same.

Which means I am boyish or he is girlish. Or maybe, we're both mildly androgynous. :)

Do you really get nervous with the phone? I don't know where that comes from, but I've been that way as long as I can remember.

I don't know how to describe it other than that I hate it.

As for my dad, I can be walking down the street in my hometown and complete strangers will come up and say "oh, you must be Tony's son! You look just like him!" I've been getting taht my whole life, haha.

157. I look
so much like my paternal grandmother (who died when I was 5 and I have no memories of her although I met her a couple of years earlier) that when I was in my 20's and met a woman, then elderly, who'd known Grandma when Grandma was in her 20's, the first thing out of her mouth was, "Oh! Doesn't she look exactly like Adele!"

158. Three possibly surprising things
1. I am mentioned by name in the Dec. 20, 1994 Congressional Record, which also means I'm cross-referenced in the Library of Congress.
2. The only nationally-known politician I've ever met was George Wallace -- about three days before he was shot. I don't think the two facts are related.
3. I've been to every one of the 1,083 townships in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.
