Anyone else having security problems with PayPal?
I've gotten three emails allegedly from PayPal telling me that three different "unauthorized users have been added to my account," and to reply to a link given in the email.

When I click on the email, it sends me to a page that tells me PayPal is undergoing security updates, and asks me not only for my credit account info, but my bank PIN as well. Although it looks just like PayPal, looking at the URL, it's not PayPal but some site called "glidemart.com." :eyes:

So of course I contacted PayPal customer service to ask them to verify that my account had been accessed by unauthorized someones, and inform them about the seemingly bogus "glidemart" pages. I have gotten three form emails supposedly from PayPal customer service saying that they have noticed unusual account activity in my account, and that I need to contact them at another link. When I click that link, it brings me to a 404 page.

Is anyone else having problems like this with their PayPal accounts? Has anyone ever gotten a reply from a real customer service rep at PayPal, not just a form letter?

1. The usual scam - just delete the emails
It looks like you're getting hard hit today, but sadly, this is not an unusual phishing case.

2. those are scams
log onto your account via paypal.com and check to see who has access. Should just be you. Remove anyone else and change your passwords. Don't EVER give account info to other sites.

4. Paypal; calls them SPOOF emails. DO NOT CLICK on the link!!!
I have the link to Paypal's spoof dept in my address book. As soon as I get ANY email from "Paypal" the first thing I do is forward it to [email protected]

99% of the time they are spoof, and the 2 times or so that they were real, Paypal tells me that too.

These idiots are trying to get your login and password so they can steal your info, and $$.

5. Scam, scam, scam, scam
report it to PayPal, but it's probably some Russian or Khazicstan or some damn site where there are few if any laws.

6. Don't click any links!
Those are just scams. Forward anything from paypal to [email protected] and they will tell you if it came from them.

9. I get them constantly
I never respond to them in any way. If I'm curious about the validity of the e-mail, I open a separate window and go to Paypal directly.

BTW, you can forward phish e-mails to [email protected]. Do the same with phish e-mails that appear to come from Ebay. Send them to [email protected].

10. THESE ARE BOGUS EMAILS -- forward them to [email protected]
Do not mess around with these.

Forward them to the address I listed so that paypal can figure it out.

If you are worried log into your paypal acct and change your password.

11. Thanks, Everyone.
I could tell they were crappy spam emails, but getting no response from PayPal customer service was annoying as hell. I'll add that [email protected] to my email address book.

I love DU! You guys know everything! :applause:
