Ever been murdered in a dream? Freaked me out last night.
I was talking to a friend of mine, whom I have known almost all my life. He turned around and said something like, "this is what you need". He then produced a large revolver and put it up under my chin and at that point I woke up.

The only thing I can think of that would trigger this thought is an incident that happened 20 years ago with this guy. He had a real bad drinking problem back then. We had planned to go out to some clubs that evening and I stopped by his place to pick him up. The other people waited in the car and I went to his door to get him. I knocked and he said to come in. He was sitting in an easy chair with a loaded shotgun pointed at me and an empty 12 pack of beer scattered on the floor. He was trashed. I took the gun away from him, unloaded it and told him he was in no condition to leave his house. (I took the gun with me and threw it in the trunk of the car)

Would this trigger my dream last night? 20 years after the fact and I still think about it?

1. I got shot through the head with an arrow in a dream once.
It was at night and I was walking down the street and someone shot an arrow through my head, from one side to another. A few seconds later I woke up.

2. There is lots of death in my dreams....
Almost everyone I've loved in my life has died in my dreams, and I've committed suicide in my dreams, too.

Death is supposed to symbolize change... which makes sense. Most close relationships change in some way, at some time. Did your relationship with this friend change recently, or are you expecting it to in some way?

4. I haven't realized any change.
He still lives in our old home town, I am 1000 miles away and have been for years. I still visit him when I go home to visit my folks. We chat on the phone every other month or so. The only thing different is I haven't talked to him in over 4 months because he is out on his boat every weekend and thats the only time I have available to chat.

7. Perhaps you feel he's drifting away. Or...
... since he's angry in the dream, you feel guilty about not making time to talk during the week.

And yes, if someone once pointed a shotgun at you in real life... you are bound to revisit this down the line on an emotional level, even subconsciously.

3. No, but my at the time six month old son was. Horrible as hell.
My husband woke me because I was literally screaming.

5. In almost every dream I have, I die
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 10:02 AM by sakabatou
So I kind of expect it. Sometimes I die in new ways and afterwards its fun reminicing how I died, such as being stomped by Mechagodzilla, or being blow-up by a firework.

6. I find it kind of funny. I find it kind of sad.
The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I ever had.

8. I've often watched someone else being murdered
in my dreams. And I'm usually incapacitated in some way: can't move, can't call for help, just helplessly watching.

I remember one where I was watching and I couldn't breathe, couldn't get enough air to talk.

No, I haven't had one of these in many years. But when they happened, they were disturbing.
