Go home and hug your dog
If you don't have a dog, visit a friend who has one and hug his.

If you have a cat, find a dog...trust me you need to do this with a dog.

It will make your day better

It will remind you that there are things in this world that are true and pure

It will benefit you to be around such innocence

And the dog will love it.

Go ahead, hug a dog

1. Make sure the dog will let you hug him!
Dogs that will love to be petted can turn snappish when hugged because they may perceive it as being forced to be submissive.

A dog will submit voluntarily and happily but hates to be forced to submit. Be careful and treat the dog with respect.

13. sweetheart -- I LOVE that picture!
I'm thinkin' that with a cutie-patootie like that, you probably don't need reminders from anyone else to give your baby a hug... man oh man, that face is reminder enough! :)

And nytemare - AWWWWWWWWWW! I wanna hug Fluffy too! (Wherever in the world did you find that picture? That is adorable!) :)

5. We had only one dog who didn't like to be hugged.
I think she was claustrophobic.
She was OK with kissing, though.

10. with six 4 -legged buddies under foot around the house, it hard not to.
never pass up a chance to pet a dog. its free and its good for the soul.

don't tell the others, but i just gave my 12 year old kuvasz named kodi a bowl of vanilla ice cream.

my last two lady friends were pissed off that I spent so much time with my dogs.

i told each of them that if she would wait for me by the front gate buck naked on all fours, with a leather collar around her neck and could lick her own butt i might just like her as much as them.

so, i'm single again..... but i love my dogs!

14. How did you manage to do that?
Hell, I can't even sneak a marshmellow to one without the rest stampeding from five rooms away.

If I actually had to go into the cupboard to get a plate (always give them their ice cream on paper plates - and boy, have they gone through a lot this summer) and a scoop, go to the freezer to get out the ice cream....

I don't care where they are - upstairs, outside - stampede.

Then, when I actually do manage to sneak one something - not a very frequent occurrence.... This is the ONLY time they do not scarf down the food. No, it must be gently coddled and paraded - right past every other dog. Then, and only then, can it be consumed - in as loud and obnoxious a manner as possible...

Needless to say, I am impressed with your powers of snack subterfuge!

11. Kitties are better to hug than doggies.
JMHO ;)

Animals are the only innocents in this world - babies aren't even close. Without animals in this world, I would be even crazier than I already am :)

12. No way pal
My dog got skunked (again) last night. Why my soon-to-be-ex can't figure out that a leash is necessary when you share your yard with a family of skunks is beyond me.

But then almost everything about my soon-to-be-ex is beyond me.

Anyway, no dog hugs for a week or so.

23. I hug our kitty every chance I get
It's my wife's and I wasn't around for the first 5 years of her life, but the kitty has grown to tolerate me to the point that she'll do the head-butting and an purring thing a few times a day, and it makes me smile more than just about anything in the world.
