So my internet connection was slowwwwwww..I figured it was
somehting I had done to my laptop and I was not all that crazy about it anyway.. I bought me a new Toshiba Centrino thingie laptop.. Weeeee.. My internet is still slow, and after an afternoon on the phone whith adelphia, they think my cable modem in the problem..getting a new one when the guy comes out Monday..My new laptop is way lighter than my old one, and once I get the usb mouse, I'll be in business again..

and the M key works.:)

I just could not bear the trauma of spening hours on the phone with Judy or Kevin in India.. I will never buy a Dell ever again :(

Please don't tell me that Toshiba sucks :(

2. Toshiba ROCKS.
No worries there. Then again, I've never tried to call support. ;)

I LOVE mine - a behemoth 17" widescreen 10 pounder! Only thing about it I don't like is carting it around.

4. A new laptop is on my list, too...
I used to love taking my old one down to the bars by the bay. I could edit on my fiction and sip some suds as sail boats coasted past. :-)

6. I had to buy a new computer last year because my mother board died.
I really was thinking about getting a Dell becasue their prices were really good and it was a well known name. I didn't becaue obviously didn't have a computer access to search and compare, so I just went locally and bought an HP.

I keep reading all the complaints about Dell's really bad customer service, and I guess I got lucky! I know all the HP techs are propably in india too, but instead of phone calls, they use Instant Support via a messenger service of some kind. 95% of the time they've been a very big help.

Good luck with getting your new modem quickly.

9. If I can only get the hang of the touch pad..
I am very uncoordinated:)

I went ahead and got the extended warranty that has take in, same-day (or so they said) service for 3 years..and no phone calls to India..:)
