4. I hate pitbulls...
my front bumper bears the scars left by a psycho pit bull that belongs to a former friend.

Why a former friend, you ask? Because of the fucking pit bull. I told him that that dog would kill his four year old son, who he let run through the yard with the pit bull tackling the child and holding him down.

He ignored me. I went on my way. Last I heard, he's involved in some pretty heavy drug stuff. Now the pit bull makes sense.

:grr:

9. Stupid fucking dog owners.
That's pure bullshit. Owners that don't chain their dogs and let them run free are no better than the unibomber or televangelists or suicide bombers.

I'm sorry to hear that you were bitten! That totally sucks.

I remember walking through parks in NYC, and the fucking asshat dog owner filth would be letting their dogs run free with no leashes, sometimes they'd run up to people, including my partner and me, scaring the shit out of her (she's afraid of dogs). I was, unfortunately, always ready to deliver a killing blow to a dog in case they attacked her or me. Sad, but there you go. And if the owner would have bitched (as I'm sure they did) I'd say, "Hey - how do I know someone owns the fuckin' thing? There was no leash on it." And walk away and to say to hell with the idea of waiting for a cop.

13. The few bad dog owners ruin it for the good ones
I was at a public park the other day, playing softball on a field that we paid for to use (league fee). All of the sudden we hear a commotion in the parking lot, someones dog got too close to someone elses, and they went at it. Pretty vicious. Then the one guy brought his dog into our outfield to "check it out" and wipe the blood off. Then the jerk took off the lease, and proceeded to walk through our outfield with this dog...

HMMM.. SoftBALL, rowdy dog, no leash. Of course, soon as someone hit the ball, the stupid dog went after the person who fielded it.

I started yelling mean thing at the owner, who finally got the dog off the field. he screamed back "what, you dont like dogs or something?"

I said, "no, i dont like stupid humans!" Didnt see him or the dog the rest of the game :)

12. Pay close attention to where your skin broke!
Don't let any potential infection get too far. My husband was nipped by a dog while on vacation, his finger got very infected, and he wound up in the hospital with multiple surgeries. Dogs have many weird kinds of bacteria that can be dangerous and sometimes unidentifiable, so be careful!

14. I know you know this, but clean it well
and watch it for signs of infection. Um, if he broke the skin don't you have to find out if he's been vaccinated for rabies or something?

A feral cat bit me when I was in college and I came this close to having to get rabies shots, but the animal control people eventually found the cat and it DID have an owner and did have up-to-date shots.

Whew.

I hope you're ok.

20. Yes, he does have to find out if it's been vaccinated or not.
If I were DS1, I'd call the cops, report the bite, then I'd make the owners show indesputable proof that the dog was vaccinated. As in, they'd better provide proof from a veterinarian's office.

And, we all know what happens to dogs that don't have proof of rabies vaccination? Off with his head, if I recall correctly.

Take Bouncy's advice and make sure it's clean. If you see the first signs of infection get your tush to the doctor fast.
