A woman's pet lion, Simba, has upsetted neighbors
MURPHYSVILLE, Ky. -- Target 5's Michelle Hopkins receives many e-mails and phone calls every day, and almost nothing surprises her. But a lion living in Northern Kentucky? She didn't believe it until she saw it firsthand.

Simba, a 400-pound African lion, is scaring most of the neighbors around Murphysville.

Josh Prather and his young family live a little more than one mile from the lion.

"I just don't want to see an accident happen one day," Prather said.

Carol Workman claims her family's pet lion is harmless. Simba shares a cage with a little dog named Jumper. He eats two 5-gallon barrels of wet dog food and plenty of bread every day.

Workman estimates the 3-year-old will gain another 100 pounds.

"He needs a bigger cage or he needs to go someplace else," Workman said.

Simba's cage is a chain link fence with electric wiring. The wires will give Simba a shock if he tries to get out, but neighbors said that's not good enough.

1. I have dongs in my neighborhood that I'm more afraid of than I
would be of that Lion. I'm also a bit concerned that they're feeding it dog food! I always though they were carnivors.

2. I'm sorry, but lions are not domesticated and are anything but pets.
I'm with the neighbors on this issue.
