I was just on the greatest first date EVER.

After weeks of waiting, I finally got to meet this fantastic woman today. First, pictures of her do not do her justice; she is absolutely stunning, in a "what the hell is she doing with me" kind of way. But she was much, much more than that. She is smart, funny, fearless, able to put on a French accent at the drop of a dime, and incredibly, adorably nerdy. I was calm, the conversation never lagged, and I felt lucky every single moment that I got to spend with her.

Best of all: We've already set up the 2nd date. So expect lots more sap from Finnfan for the foreseeable future.

I would say I had the greatest first date ever as well. He is a man who knows how to treat a woman. We had a most fabulous time. We clicked. Yes, he gets a second date. :D

I will also add my view of "internet relationships" to the mix. If people meet online, it's great if it's in a place like this with common interest (be it politics, politics with a side order of "snark" :P, bungee jumping, quilting, or whatever). I've never actually went out with someone I've never met before like this, but we talked a lot beforehand these past few weeks. (He knew people who met me, I knew people who met him, etc.) I'd also say in terms of meeting someone you met online, don't waste time. If two people "click" they need to find a way to do something about it as soon as possible. The "reality sphere" is a little phrase of mine FF loves, but it's the only thing that really matters. Everything else is just abstraction. Anyway, 'nuff said there.

Sometimes you never know where things will go, but as they say "nothing ventured, nothing gained" and of course, I am "fearless" so it makes it all the better. Not like I haven't been hurt. Last week, my ex-husband sent me this "I'm mean to you because I still love you" letter :wtf: and call me a "bitch" the next day. And I have to get along with this guy because of kids (I take the high road with him everydamned time too)? Yeah, if I can take a few chances after someone like that (carefully, of course), well, anyone can.
