I saved a moth last night
after the trivia game (we lost :( ) I stopped in the men's room. Walking out, I saw a moth flying along the mirrored wall in front of the sink. Thinking that I could save it, (or someone would kill it ) I got a paper towel and held it close to the moving moth. The moth landed on it and stayed put. I walked it out of the front door to the patio and put the moth and paper in a nearby plant pot. The moth didn't move the whole time.

1. Ahhhh! You're an angle
I teach my kids to do this kind of stuff when ever they get an opportunity. ...Just show their appreciation for all things living.

2. I'm a right angle
O8) I couldn't resist. :D

That's good, teach them now, and hopefully it'll stick them when they're grown and it matters.

Save our earth, it's the only one we get. :)

5. I do the same thing
With most bugs. Some I can not tolerate. Which leaves conflicted, both morally and ethically.

8. I killed about eighteen thousand of the fuckers last night.
and a whole raft of skeeters, gnats and other flying irritants.

I'd had enough of the aerial assault every time I go outside, so I set up both the Mosquito Magnet AND the ultraviolet bug zapper.

I know, I know, bugs have their place in the Grand Scheme of Nature, but we live next to the woods and across the street from a swamp, so we have a surplus. Nothing that eats bugs is going to go hungry around here no matter how many we kill, believe me.

14. Might have been slow, but it was the best I could do.
If you'd have been in our back yard last night, you'd probably have wanted to go back and track down that moth you let out and stomp the hell out of it. Or get out a machine gun and start pegging away at the skeeters (some of which were big enough that they could probably take a bullet or two and keep coming after you).

Man, it was like a science-fiction movie. Raccoon-shaped things staggering through the yard, under a bug crust an inch deep covering their entire bodies. Poor little bunnies getting their ears eaten off. The nightly squadron of swallows and bats falling out of the air in heaps after colliding with the solid wall of insectitude. The spiders cowering in fear after seeing their webs collapse from the overload.

The horror...

15. the other night
my son said, Mom there's a butterfly in my bed. It was so cute. It was a moth, which I managed to relocate. I am not sure how they are getting in the house.
