23. I third it.
My wife supports the Repubs in general, but HATES B*sh and the war.

That's good enough for me. B-)

7. Hell yes! And would again in a heartbeat....When it come to sex, I'm not
bigoted by age, race, religion or political persuasion. If you're legal, and fun, interested and willing-well, come sit by me and lets talk and see what happens.

Now how should someone answer if he/she is a Republican yet a stalwart DUer nonetheless? I'm not talking about myself, BTW.

12. I married one in the 80's
and dated one for a couple of years. We got into it over LIHOP/MIHOP shortly after the 9/11. I said even if they didn't cause it they've used as if they did, and it amounts to the same thing....OMG he went wild...called me blasphemous and trashed his house with a bottle of red shrimp cocktail sauce... it was tramatic...looked like a war zone....I stuck around for a little while longer but that ruined it for me plus as the elections drew near I couldn't stand republican anything and I started seeing rush Limbaugh/tony snow/oreilly/ drudge/ glen beck/ hannity/ bush/ Chaney/ etc. when I looked at him ...I had to get out of the relationship.. he still calls and leaves messages wanting to reconcile I just can't. yuck

...although we were too busy fighting about everything else to ever discuss politics. Good thing, or somebody would probably be dead by now.

19. Well, one of my ex-girlfriends is an idiot.
I could definitely see her and her family being Republicans.

There was also a much nicer, smarter girl who could possibly have been a Repuke. Not really sure.

24. It's been twenty years since I slept with anyone other than my wife.
She is not a Republican.

Some of the women I slept with may have ended up Republicans, but if they were, they didn't tell me about it.

I've been a Democrat all my adult life and I've been pretty political in my approach to my love life.

26. one of my best relationships
was with a moderate, kind of middle of the road person.

She could see both sides of every issue and kind of ponder all the alternative viewpoints.

Although she was definitely middle of the road (and I believe registered as an Independent officially), I feel like she turned to the left a bit easier and more frequently than she turned to the right (from the middle of the road).

But, it was always fun to talk politics with her--because even when she disagreed with me--she was well-informed, listened, and was just plain fun to ponder politics with.

I don't want someone who has all the same viewpoints that I do--that would be boring. I don't want someone with exactly the same opinions and interests as mine--when someone seems to be too much in synch with me--I suspect that they are trying to hide their true self in an attempt to have more "in common with me".

I most enjoy being around a person who is authentic and can honestly disagree with me once in a while. I don't want a clone of myself--I am stuck being with myself ALL the time, and frankly sometimes I get sick of myself. I want someone with a unique perspective--who can occasionally make me see and think of things in a new way.

if you could tell them apart from real humans. Maybe a swastika tattooed on the forehead, or blood continually seeping from the pores on their hands.
