Who Beat Out Mrs ROBINSON for the Oscar, 1967
Dozing off last night, I wondered this, thinking that minimally the "seduction" scene was so iconic that it should have won.

But I was thinking it was a Supporting role. Ms BANCROFT was nominated for Best for that role.

So who got it? K. HEPBURN, in one of the wins that I, personally, would not give her. Another one would have been the "tie" when STRIESAND got the other half. Does anybody believe there was a "tie"?

In the Best category for 1967, I would have preferred DUNAWAY for Bonnie & Clyde.

Mrs ROBINSON would have been a shoo-in for the Supporting.

Katherine Ross received Best Supporting Actress Nom

Anne Bancroft had won an Oscar for her role in "The Miracle Worker"

3. Yep, All the Nominees Were in Great Films That Year
Actually, the other HEPBURN in Wait Until Dark was also excellent, very scary. The link is chock full of power players. I suspect that the Kate H. winner just had more personal clout.

4. Hepburn should not have won for "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner"
I think that was a sympathy win because of Spencer Tracy having died that year.

No way was that performance Oscar worthy, IMO. Ok at best.

2. FWIW, Katharine Ross was nom'd for Best Supporting, but
Estelle Parsons got it for "Bonnie & Clyde."

There's no telling about who gets what and why. Personally I think Cher's win for "Moonstruck" was a consolation prize because she didn't get it (and totally deserved it) for "Silkwood." (Sorry, Ronny K....) That was Glenn Close's Oscar.
