The best dog ever.
I was just reminded of how much I miss my very first dog. She was a golden/lab mix, and there is no doubt in my mind that she was The Best Dog Ever.

1. What a pretty dog
I love labs. And with the sad looks on their faces you gotta want to play with them.

5. Awww.... here's to the bestest doggies ever.
http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

6. What a doll!
She's beautiful! I know what you mean about missing them. Mine's been gone 16 months..I miss him too. He was a choco lab mix. There's nothing like those lab facial expressions, lab antics and lab kisses!

7. what a pretty dog!
she is lovely. The 3rd pic down, she has one of the sweetest expressions I have ever seen. :hi:

I wish I had pics of my first cat, Neko. He was my lil buddy growing up---a really nice people cat that liked to horse around with me and my brother---best cat 2 boys could ever have!

This is my current cat, Sooty. I found her as a stray, abandoned (she was not feral, had been spayed and probably has had a litter before) She was too nice, so I took her in.

10. i helped raise a giganto german shepherd named Apawllo
he is named after the god but I always spell his name with the paw cause its so fitting. he was my roomates dog but I was the "second dad" (you know the one the dog goes to when the owner is disciplining him - he would come lay down on my feet and put his paws over his eyes).

he grew into a fantastic dog, well-socialized and happy. he weighs about 120, and at some point we had to stop throwing the frisbee because this dog would jump like a border collie and we were afraid itd hurt his hips, legs or spine.

Apawllo is still my best fur-friend and when I go hang out over there he crashes on the floor with a loud bang, rolls over on his back and does this hilarious excited yelping. I love sheps, and hope to get one someday.

I'm sorry you lost your friend. The holes they leave when they go can never quite be filled again.
