As good, if not better, than the Pink Flag-era stuff.

Sure, there are those of you who are going to say "no, you philistine, it was all over after Pink Flag". But people who say this tend to own more than one album by Swell Maps, and try to impress women at parties by explaining Fall lyrics, and saying that they knew Robyn Hitchcock was in the Soft Boys way before he went solo.

So to these naysayers and armchair critics, I say "nay, it is you who are wrong.

My assessment of such releases as "A Bell is a Cup", "Kidney Bingos", "The Ideal Copy", the "Snakedrill" EP, and most importantly, the obscure CD released under the name "Wir" is apt.

Apt, I say.

Brilliant, complex, challenging pop. Every bit as good as Pink Flag... maybe better.
