HELP PLAYSTATION 2 skips, any suggestions

1. Your only hope is probably a can of compressed air

Buy one and blow it directly into the open disc tray. If there are any large pieces of dust messing up the lens, this will dislodge them so that you can try using your cleaning disc.

It's cheaper to buy a new one than to repair your old one if that doesn't work.

2. should I blow the air inside?

I tried blowing the air on the tray and it didn't help, and it's not the discs because I've tried many, it's make loud noises when it begins reading the discs

3. What position is it in?

Is it in the horizontal or vertical position? Sometimes switching to the other position will do the trick. Is it doing it to all disks? I know there's a problem with the blue-colored backing ones, but others shoudl work ok if the machine's ok.

Also, is it humid where you are? Sometimes mine won't work if it's very humid.

4. I've tried it in both positions

it's doing to every disk I've try, it rained most of yesterday but now it's 85 degrees outside but I have the AC on now, it worked last Monday when it when it then 70s, it has worked fine until today

6. how much will a pawn shop pay for it?

I've gotten many skipping CDs from pawn shops, I doubt they would check it
