Yesterday morning, a huge storm was blowing through, so I ran down to the creek in an attempt to "drive" the ducks up to their pen. Well, the ducks decided to be cantankerous. They led me through the woods, up and over hills, through the creek several times, and, finally, through a patch of poison ivy.
I chased on. They ran away. The storm was bearing down, and the creek floods badly, which would carry the ducks away.
For two hours, I chased the ducks around, in basically a loopdeloop circular pattern covering at least five acres. For two hours, the ducks looked at me, looked at each other, and ran.
After I came inside, tired and frustrated, I heard the ducks quacking nearby. I looked outside, and guess where they were. In their damned pen.
Today, I'm dealing with poison ivy and the realization that the ducks are smarter than I am.
