it just popped in a shorter time than recommended - but it taste fine

The actual popcorn would last indefinitely, but I am not sure about the shelf life of the oil or flavorings in it.

With unpopped microwave popcorn, I'd worry more about the oil and the additives than the corn.

7. Oil can go rancid, popcorn is probably good
Popcorn will keep indefinitely if it doesn't get wet.
