Anyone familiar with the birth control pill "Seasonale?"
My gyn gave it to me today because of my painful cramps. Most of what I know is that you end up with 4 periods a year, one every three months. Has anyone tried it? Have you even heard of it?

1. Yes I have
Is there a reason that your doc wanted Seasonale over Orthocyclin?
The reason I ask is that my understand of Seasonale is that it has waaaay higher levels of synth. estrogen than Ortho- and that's something that might be cool for keeping the # of periods down, but it's not so hot coz it's been linked to breast cancer. I love me Orthocyclin- no cramps, and I don't mind bleeding every month...

2. Well, maybe she is not worried about so much because I am
an overweight lady. I think it has to be strong to get through if your as big as I am. The gyn said about "shots?" that would not work for me for being to heavy.

3. I'm not so sure on that
I would maybe push for more details. For some women, yeah, you DO need more estrogen- others, not so much. But the lowest dose to get the job done is the best, coz breast cancer is nothing to fool with.
Good luck!

4. Thank you, hon!
I do worry about breast cancer because I do not think I will ever have children so that increases the risk, but I trust this gyn, I've had her for five years and I'm only 23.
Good luck with your cramps, too, hon!

5. it can make you a little nervous
Because it will take you 4 months to suspect that you are pregnant (this is a concern of my friend, I take regular ones!)
