I Wonder What Dubya's Staff And Cabinet Say Behind His Back...
Edited on Tue Oct-28-03 02:12 PM by arwalden
... in their private, candid, one-on-one conversations with each other... do they ever let-on to each other?

Do they roll their eyes, shrug their shoulders, drop their jaws, cover their eyes, and hang their head in disbelief?

Is there some signal they give to each other---a nod, a grimace, a wink---some secret acknowledgment, some subtle gesture that indicates an admission of their knowledge that the emperor has no clothes?

-- Allen

P.S. I'm still waiting for a Kitty Kelly unauthorized biography of Dubya... did I miss it already? --- You think there will be a "Primary Colors" kind of book about Dubya?

1. Can you imagine working in the White House Communications Office?
You're there, in your office, watching that train wreck with the other staffers. NONE of you wants to say anything for fear of being "Roved" out of your job. So, being the true believer that you are, you keep your mouth shut and soldier on.

2. I bet some of them have good nicknames for him...
as well as others associated with his misadministration. I know that Lincoln's secretaries called Mrs. Lincoln the "Hellcat" and called Lincoln the "Tycoon" or the "Ancient". I can only imagine what white house staffers might call *.

3. The tell all books will come fast and furious after Bush is over.
Oh, yeah Allen. There will be some books about the behind the scenes in the Oval Office. The supposed loyalty right now will be gone when the book deals start.

4. My guess is
they're veeeeeery careful about that kind of thing because they know the consequences of impure thoughts and deeds in the Rove White House. However, I'll bet when they're drunk, maudlin, and depressed at some hotel lounge on the Hill, kicking back scotches and fondling the black hole where their consciences used to be, they say things that would make your hair curl. Just a guess.

5. They are too busy stealing, looting, plundering, pillaging and ...
lying to cover it all up, that they don't notice the Dunce in Cheap! They're laughing all the way to the offshore banks!

6. None of the staffers dare release a "tell-all"
...people who do that have a history of "committing suicide" (uh-huh) or dying in "plane crashes."

Scorpions don't like having their rocks lifted.

7. I'd like to know what Rove and Cheney call him
His handlers look about half bored and half terrified when they turn the guy loose in front of people. I swear whenever he says something stupid you can see his whole posse fight off rolling their eyes.

I bet Cheney makes him go watch Aladdin or something while the rest of the real policy boys get together and do some real PNAC Middle Eastern dominance work. And I may add, he sends Condi in to babysit too.

8. Here is a third hand report
A friend of mine chatted with Mitch Daniels (the prior budget director) shortly after he left Washington. He asked Mitch what is was like to work for George.

Mitch said it was a great experience, because George was funny, knew where he wanted to go, and just let you do your job.

Of course, after presiding over the greatest budget catastrophe in the history of the nation, I would have thought Mitch would go before a firing squad. So I guess Mitch was elated that not only was George not bright enough to realize that things went seriously into the crapper on his watch, but as a reward he is getting the support of the administration to steal the governor's job in Indiana.

Mitch was recently quoted as saying that we (Hoosiers) shouldn't let those that presided over the economic debacle that has gripped the state to continue to stay in office. Gee Mitch, you are right, we shouldn't let your sorry ass be governor because you were responsible for the crises in the entire US, let alone Indiana.
