Official McDonald's Nutrition & Calorie List
Edited on Thu May-26-05 04:29 AM by illbill
I just watched Super Size Me for the 3rd time cause I was bored and then it finally dawned on me to check out how many calories I am actually consuming when I hit up McDicks... All I can say is that their "Low fat" menu is a joke.

On their site, they make it so it basically takes a good 20 minutes to make the list of all their products so I took screen shots and it is all nicely organized on my blog.

PS - I'm never eating there again.. or.. ermm... not tonight at least. :P

1. I haven't eaten fast food in several years.
But it was the book, "Fast Food Nation," that turned the tide for me. :puke:

2. For years!?
Do you happen to live in the boonies miles upon miles away from civilization?

You haven't ever been driving home (or riding home drunk) and had a craving for something quick?

3. Of course I have those cravings!
But I don't indulge them, and because of where I live, it's easy not to indulge them. We don't have a McDonald's or Burger King at every stoplight or highway exit. But I made the decision to stop eating fast food before I lived here permanently. (Not being judgmental, just sayin' . . .)

5. All the power to you!
I wish I could hold back... I've been doing better lately though.

6. If you ever get a chance to tour a meatpacking plant . . .
do it. Living in meatpacking town for a few years changed the way I felt about most meat, and reading "Fast Food Nation" connected all the dots for me. I recommend it highly. (I still eat meat occasionally, but I make sure I know how it was raised, slaughtered and processed.)

P.S. Welcome to DU, illbill! :hi:

7. Same here - no fast food for ages
I haven't yet read "Fast Food Nation", I saw "Supersize Me" a few weeks ago - I was already avoiding fast food but it still made me feel rather queasy.

I'm also trying to keep away from processed food - they pack it so full of salt and other crap.

10. Plus 170% of the daily recommendation of salt
It would be a whole lot quicker just to cut open your chest and tar out your heart.

9. That is one scary list
The last thing I had from McDonald's was a black coffee, I haven't eaten their 'food' for many years and I'm not about to start again.

Not that I'm discriminating - I avoid all fast food with pretty much equal revulsion.

12. Hey hey hey! Time for a triple thick shake!
One of those alone is horrendous...

Thanks for the link!

And now expect 'legislation' making these charts illegal...
