Cell phone rudeness....my worst experience so far:
I was at the High School graduation of the daughter of a friend of mine.

During one of the speeches by one of the kids a VERY LOUD cell phone starts ringing right behind me. It rings for so long, I'm starting to think the person is going to ignore it, then all of a sudden I hear, "Hello?".

She then proceeds to have a full volume, leisurly conversation that lasts several minutes!! She finally hangs up.

Then....a few minutes later, it happens again!!!!

If it had been my kid's graduation, I would have said something, but since it wasn't, I just marveled over how we are disintegrating as a society.

2. Someone should have escorted her out.
How rude.

My aunt forgot to turn her cell off before we went to church. It started ringing during the sermon and she couldn't find it in her purse and it just kept ringing and ringing. She was so embarrassed as I was too.

3. Forgetting is forgiveable. Everyone forgets stuff sometimes
But the answering and ensuing conversations!!!

That was really unbelieveable.

4. Ridiculing inconsiderate cell phone users is one of life's pleasures.
I take every oppertunity to do so, even when I don't care about the event. ESPECIALLY then, actually, since it's something to do.

5. So obnoxious
I think you do have to say something to these people, because until they are embarrassed about it, they just don't get how rude it is.

6. Can I do one? Mine was during the climactic scene of the movie "Titanic"
Someone answered her cell during the moment when the ship cracks in half. She talked so loudly, you could clearly hear her conversation through the THX-Enhanced theater! ("The Audience is Listening" really.) Her partner on the other end of the conversation couldn't hear her, however, as she kept repeating things over and over. This lasted for a while, until someone threw a well-aimed candy at her head, whereupon she stood up and yelled "Who the f**k did that!?" An usher was called.

9. I love that.
I always leave my phone in car when I go to the movies or a public event.

7. What did these people do before they had cell phones?
I mean, it seems like their calls are SO important that they can never turn it off and they have to answer every call. So what did they do before - never leave any area that had a phone?

8. They're people whose minds are so empty that they can't stand
to be alone with themselves.

With the rise in cell phones, I have noticed a decrease in the number of people on the bus playing their Walkman so loudly that nearby people can identify the song.

10. you know, I DO remember problems before cell phones
I had to use pay phones a lot, and once I was supposed to meet up with someone but my plans changed at the last minute and he waited at the planned destination for an hour! I bet people can think of a ton of stories where things went wrong without cell phones.

11. I've taken to calling them "yell phones"
It seems as if no matter where they are or what they're doing, most people talk three times as loud as the normally would if they weren't on their cell phone. Most of the time I'm thinking, "Jebus, just hang up the phone, open the window and stick your head out--I'm sure no matter how far away your friend is, he'll still be able to hear you!"

13. I'm wondering...
...what the hell took her so long to answer the thing. Maybe she thought that if she sat real still no one would know it was her phone.

14. Who was it that...
on the the slopes skiing, a cell phone rings and the person in question grabs the phone throws it off the mountain and hands the person a hundred dollar bill?

I'm thinking it was John Kerry. I may be wrong.
