Who'da thunk it?
According to Snapple "Real Fact" #413: The t-rex's closest living relative is the chicken.

3. I was aware of that theory
but somehow the connection between the T-rex and the chicken eluded me.

4. You wanna really blow your mind, have a glass of ice cold water...
...then remember that SAME water was part of a dinosaur in the past. It was part of the very earliest life on this Earth, too.

5. yep, that's the prevailing theory, that birds are dinosaur remnants.
in fact, there are two types of dinosaurs, ones that resemble bird architecture, and those that resemble lizard architecture. They are differentiated by their hip bones.

It is now known that many dinosaurs had rudimentary feather-like coverings.

How do I know this off the tip of my pen? did I spend the night at a Holiday Inn express?
no.....I'm the father of a 6 yr old boy who has checked out EVERY possible dinosaur book in the world, and who can read words like Parasauralophus and diplodocus perfectly.
