I lied in an earlier thread. I was feeling down - very down - and couldn't figure out why. I'm usually a fairly level person.
Just found out that my son - 15 - who lives with his mother in a town 90 miles away - had a bad 4-wheeler accident while riding on some sand dunes in the middle of nowhere last night. He severely damaged one of his kidneys, and may have to have an operation to have it taken out. He was taken by ambulance to another town - a bigger one with better medical facilities - that is another 100 miles away.
Have to wait until the frigging bank opens tomorrow morning before I can take off -
your "alone" thread was kinda scary. Wishing all the best for you and yours. I cannot imagine being separated from my daughter, especially when she's hurt.
It can make you see things that aren't there and make you not see things that are there. In reality, you're depressed because of your son, but it sounds like you took the depression to mean something else entirely. I've had a lot of experience with depression and I've had it so bad that I've completely lost touch with reality before. I'm glad you've got it sorted out.
Best wishes and all my positive vibes to your son.
Do what you can let the rest settle itself. These things happen to many parents regardless of status. Keep us informed. Ask for an ear when you need one. Best wishes.
