Christian Bale as Batman...what do you think?

Personally, I've always thought that Bale is an outstanding actor. I really have no idea how this movie is going to play out as far as quality, but I think picking Bale as Batman is a really bold choice. That's at least a good start.

1. Well, he's a hell of a lot taller than Keaton

and has some hard facial edges, so I think he's got the Batman look. And he's been good in his stuff, so I don't think he can do any wrong ~as~ Batman, but the movie looks a bit ridiculous. Maybe the new "batmobile" is what's making me think that, it's just... dumb

2. Yeah, I have my reservations about the movie

because it could just be stupid like the last few have been, but with picking Bale it doesn't look like they're going with the typical crap. They're trying to do something different.

I really liked Keaton in the first one, BTW. That was a great movie.

6. He's a moderately known actor.

He's probably best known for his role in Empire of the Sun as a child and American Psycho. He's been in other movies, though. Always very impressive.

He's probably going to make a much better name for himself with this role. Should be good for him and the movie.

I first saw him in American Psycho, and I thought he was great in Equilibrium. I'll probably see the new Batman movie on opening night.

Beats the hell out of Keaton that's for damn sure.

Bale gets what the character is all about. He really plays up the beastial nature of the Batman. It's not just a guy in a batsuit fighting crime.

Bale is going to rock.
