...because a troll had their thread killed last week on DU, but they weren't tombstoned. They deliberately and gleefully disrupted GD...ASKING the mods to please not delete their thread, because the angry responses were "quite enlightening"...and the thread got locked, and the troll remains.

No matter what you think of the trolls on DU, it's not YOUR Web Site, and it's not MY Web Site. Skinner wrote a message earlier in the week which essentially said that if he or the mods had to explain their rationale behind every decision, nothing would get done.

So be it. It's Skinner's Web Site.

All I will say is that a troll was set loose in the wild, free to disrupt again.

Are there not people here who try to disrupt and antagonize FReepers? Isn't it a badge of honor to go stealth into a hostile forum and show that they cannot handle the truth and so they are forced to silence you?

I find it to be quite common among humans - that we do not know how to enjoy our life or the company of our friends without pestering or disparaging other people. Even here, why are we watching trolls instead of pleasantly socialising or discussing political issues?

If we believe that people on the right deserve to be mocked, and need to be stopped, then disrupting them is a positive thing. So how is that different than how they believe about people on the left? I did suggest heckling of Ann Coulter here on DU. While I still think she should be protested and heckled, I have always called for engagement with and understanding of the opposition rather than demonizing. I am doing so right here, saying we have things in common - we are passionate and activist.
