I have just come up with a perfect solution for our country's woes:

or at least, to prevent them in the future.

We simply pass a law that, if the senate or congress ever has more than 35% republicans, they have to replace enough republicans to give a 65% democrat majority, or else no laws can be passed at all. And the process by which they will decide which republicans have to leave will be left to the democrats to vote out whatever evil bastard(s) they want, which evil bastard(s) will automatically be replaced with whoever ran against them last.

That way, the Evil Bastard party can always have representation in the government, but their psudeo-science crosses-wrapped-in-the-flag rah rah jingoistic national triumphalistic fake family values bullshit will never be forced on the world again.

So we can say, "Yes, it's okay if you want to believe in Creationism, it's a free country; but we can't let you make policy, that's all we're saying. But feel free to voice your concerns. And you can voice your concerns that homosexuality is destroying the fabric of the country, and that gay marriage is akin to letting Satan be president, and that republican Christian values are at all scriptural, and so on. It's just that, if you believe all that shit, you can't be allowed to make policy. But you will have a voice."
