Rick Berman and Brannon Braga "Bushed" Star Trek.
Think of it, Berman and Braga (or as I like to call them Bevis and Butthead) took something that was perfectly good and ran it into the ground. Bush took the U.S. with a good economy and strength and worldwide respect and destroyed that. Do you see the parallels?

Furthermore, I would like to say that from now on whenever somebody fucks something up or runs it into the ground then that means that they have Bushed it.

1. Remember this is the same guy who decided to do a Star Trek film
with two scriptwriters who had never seen an episode or movie of Star Trek.

5. Ron Moore was one of the writers on it and he's awesome.
I am pretty sure Moore saw the original series. On the other hand, I know Braga never saw the original series. Moore rocks!!!!

6. bermantrek sucks. The 4 series under his helm are so antiseptic and bland
and not in a good way.

There are a few good episodes, but they survived at all because of the general populace of the time.

For lasting value, they're as rubbish as the Brosnan as James Bond (aka Brosnobond) films.

The original Trek looks like it had cost very little (actually, it was very expensive to make), but the storylines are more interesting, discuss human nature rather than preaching, and better characters. Characters, not actors. William Shatner is not the greatest actor (he's a bit hammy) but at least he's entertaining.

7. Local paper on Enterprise vs prior treks...
Sorry, I don't have a link, but the Hartford Courant the other day basically said that part of the reason for the downfall of Enterprise vs the prior Star Treks was that they previously had a liberal vision of the future - mankind living in harmony, working together to overcome obstacles, no money, no racism, etc - but, Enterprise's vision of the future was one Neocons could love.

Series Lost Its Way, State Educator Says
May 13, 2005
By ROGER CATLIN, Courant TV Critic

As science fiction fans wring their hands over the demise of the "Star Trek" TV franchise - marked by tonight's finale of "Star Trek: Enterprise" - there is a new theory about its untimely death.

David Greven, an assistant professor at Connecticut College, says the death of "Enterprise" after four seasons (other "Trek" franchises have had seven-year runs) is related to its "neoconservative" bent, at odds with the more liberal stance of the original series.

In a paper titled "The Death of Star Trek: How Neoconservatism Killed Off a Powerful Mega-Franchise," Greven argues that "Enterprise," which began in George Bush's first year in office, 15 days after 9/11, replaced the series's "progressive humanist values with a broad reactionary agenda.

14. I'm not entirely sure about that.
The third season would definitely indicate that. However, the fourth season with Vulcan attacking Andoria under false pretenses and those people being brought down seemed like they took a left turn during season 4.

11. Next to Shithead McFuckWeasel, Berman is the biggest criminal
on this planet.

There is a special hell reserved for him, and I hope that God is letting Roddenberry design it.
