The MSM has always been predatory
but I think they are worse now than they have ever been. It's too bad we don't have more people who would tell these people to take a hike.

I'm watching a favorite movie "Apollo 13" and there are a couple of scenes in the movie about the media's lack of interest in the Apollo flight...that is until they suffer their accident. I love the scene where Jim Lovell's wife Marilyn is asked by NASA guy Henry Hurt for permission to place a transmitter on her lawn. Her response is priceless:

Marilyn: I thought they didn't care about this mission. They didn't even run Jim's show.

Henry: Well, it's more dramatic now. Suddenly people are...

Marilyn: Landing on the moon wasn't dramatic enough for them - why should NOT landing on it be?

Henry: Look, I, um, I realize how hard this is, Marilyn, but the whole world is caught up in this, it's historic-...

Marilyn: No, Henry! Those people don't put one piece of equipment on my lawn. If they have a problem with that, they can take it up with my husband. He'll be HOME... on FRIDAY!

It's too bad in this day and age, we don't have more people like her who would tell the media whores were to get off. I really admire her stand.

:)

1. It was an awesome movie
It's been a long while since I saw it, but it showed that there were many good people regardless who will do the right thing at the right time. It is a bit of a reminder that we should have faith in our fellow beings, because a lot of them will come through eventually. That's the problem with a site like DU, you do become sarcastic after a while and there's a lot of evil and then you forget to realize about the good which is in this world as well.

The press were predators back then and they still are and most politician are predators as well, but there's also the guy who went over and over again on the how to work the Apollo 13 until he finally solved it. (I don't recall his name - but you know who I mean). We have a similar guy here, he's called TruthIsAll.

A Toast To TruthIsAll :toast: !

2. Yeah, I agree that the MSM is into total exploitation,...
especially of victims and their families at their most vulnerable moments. It is often chilling to watch the vulture-like feeding frenzy whenever there's an 'emotional' angle that they can run with -- no shame whatsoever.

BTW I like your dog. :)
