I hate all that dream and psychology stuff and this isn't a spoiler----I figured it out 5 minutes into the show,as would anyone.

1. What the hell was THAT all about?
Piss me off.

I'm old enough to remember that Bobby Ewing "It Was All A Dream" bullshit on "Dallas."

Piss me off.

2. Yeah
But it was interesting to see how Jack thought of himself 20+ years down the road.

I knew it was strange almost right away, but it definitely had a bite to it.

The actress who played the "old" girlfriend who was left as a beneficiary--I was trying to place her. At first I thought she reminded me of MacKenzie Phillips, but she was too old to be her. (Not that MacKenzie doesn't look older than she is from substance abuse, but she's not THAT bad looking!) Maybe someone can ID her? I don't recall seeing the credits, though.

7. Cartwright...
trying to think of her first name. She's been in movies (Witches of Eastwick) and lots of TV (X-Files).

3. the show is dangerously
off course. The personal stuff just isn't working. Jack is an unpleasant bore. The hottie couple, who have split up, are gloomy. The poor woman with the heart problems has had to lie in the street, lie on a stretcher with an oxygen mask, and have countless dreary scenes discussing her decision not to discuss her illness.
A very good show has become tedious.
Did they fire all the prior writers?
Tonight was some "actorly" gift to LaPaglia. It didn't work at all. Heavy-handed and sophmoric.
The show needs to get back on track.
