I just want you all to know something - I saw something last night here

That I NEVER thought I would see HERE on DU.

Last night a thread was started about me (I'm not stupid you know) called "Does It Feel Roomier In Here To You?"

And I want everyone of you who participated in that thread to know you did exactly what you set out to do. You hurt the fat girl - deeply. I thought we were adults. I guess I was wrong. Yeah going for the fat joke is an easy laugh. But do any of you know how many fat kids kill themselves every year? Do any of you know how many times I tried to kill myself growing up? Do any of you know how many times I have been hospitalizd for sever depression? And I want to thank each and everyone of you for bringing all that good stuff back to the surface for me because you all thoguht it was so funny to laugh at the fat girl.

Hate me because I disagree with you - call me a bitch - call me a slut - say whatever nasty thing you want about me, but remember one thing. I AM A HUMAN BEING! Just like you. And I have taken so much shit all my life from ignorant people who think it's funny to laugh at me - to call me names and to spit on me - beat me up (I can't even tell you how many times I was beaten up in school simply for being fat)nor how many times I've been beaten by men as an adult. And I'm still here.

What an enlightened group of adults you all are. So be happy you made me cry - but never again. Now please show us your adult behavior by making fun of my pain.

And there truly is no justice on this board if last nights thread stays up but this one is removed.

I saw the thread when it first started and thought it was one of those random, post a weird comment and see what happens threads. I had no idea it actually meant something. I didn't post, because I am slow on the uptake sometimes and avoid that type of thing.

I'm really sorry your feelings were hurt, weight is such a difficult issue, it is a battle for many in my family, and I have had to work really hard to thwart my genes. I am of the opinion that everyone has a weight they are just meant to be, some bigger some smaller. I wish I was 15 lbs less, but it will never happen, this is the smallest I will ever be unless I develop an obsession with excercising or an eating disorder- so not worth it to me. You are a real person to me, picture threads help! you are a vibrant and funny woman, don't let anyone tell you different. Next time you feel badly because of some stupid thread, check out your screen name and remember that.
