Favorite 80s song for people that do not like 80s music!
I must say that I like "The Safety Dance."

I heard it on the radio today and it reminded me of the best party we ever threw. A few years ago my group of friends rented an 8 bedroom house in the middle of the remote desert near 29 Palms as our place to crash and party for the Coachella Music Festival. Well, we brought in several of LA's top House music DJs and threw one of the best parties...ever....About 150 people came all within two degrees of separation from one another so it was a tight group. We set up some killer DJ equipment on the outside patio and we just absolutely let it rip! Just before sunrise, one of our DJs came on and really got our crowd wild....he brought a bongo player and an awesome saxaphone player....The music was some of the freshest tracks we had ever heard mixed for true music lovers as opposed to weekend warriors at large club venues in LA...then the house music got awesome.....the bongo player was wild....and the sax man tore the place down with a rendition of the Safety Dance - all at maximum fucking volume! I swear that was one of the highest moments of my life and I loved it! The vibe was amazing and the music blew me away...He whaled on that sax for like 10 minutes....

The day we were all out at Coachella....some people stayed behind and partied at the ranch....some tried to turn on the DJ booth...one of the nearest neighbors who lived a mile away came to complain and was quite furious at our party....he brought a cop that said he got several calls about the party the night before but being the only one in town could not respond - we were well into the dirt roads on this ranch....the cop, I heard was actually kind of cool - could tell we had a damn good time and was a touch jealous! haha...

My favorite party ever that we threw....I am so glad to have heard that song on the radio today - it brings back such good memories.

The most ridiculous crazy and wild party I have ever been to in my life was The Burning Man party - that is something else...

1. TWO TRIBES by Frankie Goes to Hollywood
(gill/johnson/o’toole)

Ladies and gentlemen, let me present
Frankie goes to hollywood
Possibly the most important thing
This side of the world.

Oh yeah, well ard!

You may pronounce us guilty a thousand times over, but the goddess of the
Eternal court of history will smile and tear to tatters the brief of the
State prosecutor and the sentence of this court, for she acquits us
Condemn me
Condemn me
Condemn me
History will absolve
Singing this will be the day that I die.
Yeahhhhhaaaa
(if your grandmother or any other member of your family should die whilst in the shelter,
Put them outside, but remember to tag them first for identification purposes.)
Go to war
Go to war
Go to war
Heh
Just think, war breaks out and nobody turns up.
(if any member the family should die whilst in the shelter, put them outside,
But remember to tag them first for identification purposes.)
(if your grandmother or any other member of the family should die whil... ...dentification purposes.)
Heh heh
It’s enough to make you wonder sometimes if you’re on the right planet.

Let’s go

*when two tribes go to war
A point is all you can score
When two tribes go to war
A point is all you can score

Cowboy no. 1
A born-again poor man’s son
On the air america
I modelled shirts by van heusen-yeah

You know

*(repeat)

Working on the black gas

Switch off your shield
Switch off and feel
I’m working on loving-yeah
Giving you back the good times
Ship it out-out
I’m working for the black gas

*(repeat)

We got two tribes
We got the bomb
We got the bomb-yeah
Sock it to me biscuits-now

Are we living in a land
Where sex and horror are the new gods?
Yeah

When two tribes go to war
A point is all you can score

2. Anything by either Guns N Roses, Beasties Boys or Run DMC
Probably not what most people would consider "80s music" but it's what I listened to back then.

4. Perfect Day by Lou Reed
Just a perfect day,
Drink Sangria in the park,
And then later, when it gets dark,
We go home.
Just a perfect day,
Feed animals in the zoo
Then later, a movie, too,
And then home.

Oh it's such a perfect day,
I'm glad I spent it with you.
Oh such a perfect day,
You just keep me hanging on,
You just keep me hanging on.

Just a perfect day,
Problems all left alone,
Weekenders on our own.
It's such fun.
Just a perfect day,
You made me forget myself.
I thought I was someone else,
Someone good.

Oh it's such a perfect day,
I'm glad I spent it with you.
Oh such a perfect day,
You just keep me hanging on,
You just keep me hanging on.

You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow,
You're going to reap just what you sow...
