Almost time for strawberry pie
It won't be long before our berries are ripe, and I'll fire up the pie factory, yum, yum, yum.

3. Oven?
<voice voice-font="bubble-head";>

What does an oven have to do w/ a strawberry pie?

I guess if you really insist you can bake the shells yourself to have them whatever thickness you like...

Are we talking about the same thing?

Graham cracker shell
pastry cream
strawberries
glaze (if you like that kind of thing)
topping (again, if its your thing)

Or is it some other pie?

7. I didn't know there was a non-cooked strawberry pie recipe
but most strawberry pies Ive had have been baked. They had no pastry cream and a traditional pie crust made from dough. I want the oven to be on so I can have one fresh out of it :hi:

4. Ooh! Anyone have a recipe?
Maybe there's one in the cooking group?

I did a doubletake when I saw this thread, because I had just come upstairs wondering where I'll find something to do with the two containers of strawberries I just bought.

Pie will do just nicely, I think!

5. Lets see if I can do this from memory
I've got the recipe in the kitchen, but, let's see.

One baked pie shell
two cups strawberries
One cup water
one cup sugar
One box strawberry jello
two tablespoons cornstarch

wash and prepare berries, put in baked shell.
combine water, sugar, cornstarch, cook over medium high heat until thick, remove from heat stir in jello, let it cool for five minutes, then pour over berries let it chill for a couple of hours in the fridge.
Top with whip cream and enjoy.
