Who is awake?
It's 12:30 p.m. here in the U.K. - I'm sort of awake (slowly working towards making some more coffee to have with lunch).

I think (terrible at time-zones), that this makes is 1:30 in Europe, 7:30 Eastern flowing backwards 6:30 Central, 5:30 Mountain, and 4:30 Pacific.

How many DUers are awake and sprightly this fine Monday?

8. That sounds very early to me
It's hard enough for me to drag my arse out of bed in order to leave home by 8:30 (that turned into 8:45 this morning).

I'm doing very well for Monday before lunch. I bought a large packet of Haribo this morning, and then ate them all rather quickly giving myself a massive sugar rush (I rarely eat anything sweet), which then faded and made my very dopey. Time for coffee and real food methinks.

How are you, and how is Boston today?

As for the weather - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - sunny and warm sping days here :D

32. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak
If I try it, it just doesn't work.

The economy's been doing well, but the future is less certain; the biggest problem is high cost of living. That said, we'd all love you to come over here and we're all very nice really (once we know you're not a bushite), so you should at least look into it.

35. nice!
i've heard that ireLand is the rising economy at the moment (at Least in my area(s)). not sure how true it is, since i'm getting a biased view from my irish coworker.

if i ever take such a big step, i'd prefer it to be a baby one... Like engLand or canada.

39. Ireland has been doing very well indeed recently
So much so that Irish people have stopped leaving, and started going back.

This was assisted by some major funding from the E.U., which is likely to be diverted to the central European countries which have just joined.

Also remember the proximity to Europe. From either England or Ireland you could jump on a plane and be in Paris, Florence, Madrid at the drop of a hat. Plus you'll get run-over in the first week as you struggle to get used to people driving on the correct side of the road.

2. you are right, it is 1.30pm here
and I just had some home made cake. My colleague had birthday yesterday and brought two very yummy cakes to work today. So we sat together with some other colleagues for some coffee and cake.

Now I need to go back to work (even though I am not in the mood). Good thing I had some coffe which makes me awake (because I barely drink coffee)

An idea which we could do well to import to England - you should try afternoon tea as well - then we can all gain massive ammounts of weight and do passable imitations of beached-whales ;-)

14. Sounds familiar
You need the week to recover from the week-end rather than vice-versa.

I'd love to be like that, but work's still back-up a wee bit from the holiday last Monday so I need to keep the nose to the grind-stone.

5. 7:40 EST here
in New Jersey. Before I signed onto DU I put a load of clothes in to wash, swept the floor, hugged on a kitty and fed the kitties. Oh, also sang to them.

Now, cup of coffee in hand, I am about to check the DU headlines.

Good Morning, everyone. :)

21. It's not been too bad - for a Monday morning
There was a definite moment of thankfullness for flexi-time when I finally started to crawl along the ground to the shower a good half hour after I should have done.

You're more than welcome to some coffee and a little something to eat is probably a good idea too - be warned I like my coffee resembling road-tar. :donut:
