Almost May 9 and we haven't turned on the air conditioning!
Yay! I don't think we made it this long last year, but it's been kind of cool this year.

It won't last, I was just excited we made it this long. I think we can make it through to the end of this week. Just been using the ceiling fans on high. I'm in Texas, so it's inevitable, but I try to see how long we can go before having to turn it on each year.

1. My husband refuses to turn on the AC yet
He's also making do with the ceiling fans. We'll see how much of a baby I am when I get there next week!

3. In Chicago, it got ALL THE WAY UP TO 75 TODAY!
I've never seen so much white, pale, blotchy skin in my life.

4. Giggling.
I had a friend who had a theory that people are more attractive in the south. I went to Chicago with him on a business trip and he cracked me the heck up, going around announcing that he "could be a fucking male supermodel here!" He was half-kidding, he wasn't an attractive guy and liked to make fun of that fact.

I have no idea why I shared that.

6. It's true. People are physically uglier up here, IMO.
I lived in Nashville and New Orleans each for five years; there were acres of hot, tanned, modelesque women - and their male counterparts (if yer into that kinda thing)- as far as the eye could see.

Trouble is, many of them were soulless, brainless bimbos. I like it here much better.

13. I live in Phoenix
I've put the AC on a couple of times, no longer than a hour -- just to circulate the air, doors were open, ceiling fans were on, it was still warm. It is important for me to be comfortable when I go to bed. I dread the days of AC everyday.

My house is warm tonight but not warm enough to turn on the AC, actually there is a nice breeze coming through the house.

The down of this weather,my one dog does not sleep on the bed, he sleeps on the tile in the bathroom. Well, this means if he wakes at 3:00am, he wants to go outdoors. I refuse to get up, eventually he goes back to sleep. But, I'm awake at 3 and can't go back to sleep.

In the winter he sleeps on the bed and doesn't budge until I decide to get up. I'm ready to pull back the mattress cover and let him sleep on the cool waterbed.

By the way Bouncy Ball, do you have the energy as your name says? I visualize you as a person filled with an extreme amount of energy.

15. Extreme? I don't know about extreme.
But a lot, yes. And I'm naturally optimistic. Kind of bouncy, but not in an obnoxious way. That's why a friend suggested this screen name.

:hi:

5. This cool TX weather is freaking me out
With the cool air and the rain, I couldn't warm up today. It's hard to believe its May. Tomorrow is suppose to be sunny and warm which means we'll have horrible humidity. :( I can deal with dry TX summer heat, but I get miserable when it's humid. yuck

12. I'm going to turn off my central air (house faces South)
And put a little air conditioner in my bedroom.

I hope that is going to save me about $100 a month, at least.

:)

9. My parents never turned their AC on
until the 4th of July.

It could have been 120 and they ALWAYS waited till July 4.

11. Geez Louise.
I won't get crazy with it. When the ceiling fans aren't cutting it, we're turning it on.

but then again, I had the window open all night. Still, it's May.

17. As a kid in Texas I didn't live in a place with AC until I was sixteen.
Houston,Temple,Converse and Schertz(the last two are very small towns just north of San Antonio)and we made do with water coolers and ceiling fans. Even thinking about living here in Denton now without AC is enough to make me pack my bags for the Northwest.

18. I slept in flannel pajamas last night.
Plus fuzzy socks, two blankets and a comforter. I get very cold easily. But I hear it's finally going to warm up again by Wednesday.

I just had an air conditioner installed in my bedroom. I didn't have one last summer and with my skylights, I felt like an ant underneath a magnifying glass...
