10. Hair colour changes all the time
It has since I was a teen.

It doesn' look auburn in person. It's lightish brown with lots of gold and red highlights.

Thanks.

I spent most of 7th and 8th grade way too skinny, awkward, and ugly. That picture was taken after my friend made over my hair and put some makeup on me, and I wasn't wearing my hideous dark-brown-framed glasses.

I embarrassed myself in the 7th & 8th grades over that boy. I spent scads of money trying to improve myself. I walked into a lamp post once, looking at him. My friends never heard the end of it until 9th grade, when I gave up and started liking "Jeff".

73. How beautiful
I managed a childhood throughout the '80s without a mullet - I guess they didn't hit merry England as badly as America.

Welcome to D.U. :hi:

Remember add-a-bead necklaces anyone? God I hated those braces, and it took me years to learn that my hair simply WILL NOT hold a curl. No matter how much hairspray I use!

edit: 8th grade, btw...13 or 14 years old. can you believe I bought beer and cigs then, without getting carded?!?!?! or I talked my way out of it if I did? holy crap - I was a little shit.

79. My picture was between braces. I had them twice
I got them in grade 7 and they were off by the time photos were taken in grade 8. My teeth were always straight, just spread out - I could put a dime between my front teeth. After the braces came off, one tooth started turning sideways. There are these little ligaments that usually break when you get braces and then grow again in he new spot - mine just stretched.

I had to get a new procedure done by my dentist. She'd never done it before, but she'd talked to someone who had. It involved going underneath all my gums and slicing with a scalpel. I have NEVER been so frozen before, I couldn't even feel my ears. Right afterward, my smile was something out of a horror movie and it's pretty much impossible to spit or rinse when you're that frozen.

Oddly enough, I was able to eat corn on the cob for dinner. No pain. I did have to get braces on again. x( I had to wear them longer the second time around, just waiting for those damn ligaments to heal. (The tooth straightened out within weeks.)

80. how awful! I had mine for two years, hellish. they were the torture type,
metal bands that went fully around every single tooth, good god they hurt to have put on. and my wires, by the last six months, were so stiff, the dentist could hardly bend them with his bare hands. Fuck they hurt. And I had an underbite, so I wore a headgear at night for my lower jaw, that made me look really cool.

but my teeth are straight now!

81. Metal bands on all the teeth. Yikes
I just had the brackets on front. I did do the headgear though, because they had to pull my teeth back to loose the space. I also had elastics. Fun times.

84. You look almost the same
Except your hair doesn't stick out like that anymore. (Part of your costume? or crimping or other 80's thing?)

89. This is an evil thread!
I have no school photos - I wasn't very cooperative when people were pointing cameras at me. But this was around 9th grade - I'm getting all my stuff ready for a horse show -
