Have you had this surgery?
Osseous surgery? I had this a week ago, now I'm afraid to eat anything except soft foods. I'm also embarrassed to say I've had this surgery.

6. It is bone surgery
They scrape the crap off your bones. I've not had any pain, just afraid to eat. I don't want any garbage living between the gum and teeth. I eat, I swish and spit. I have this wonderful walleye pike in my fridge, sure would love to eat it.

14. I've had it. No big deal... You'e got to have regular cleanings now.
I also had to do the next stage, since my gums were too high on the tooth. They had to literally cut all my gums on the inside so that plaque would not form under the gum...

4. reconstructive periodontal surgery? ouch!
haven't had it, my family has above the gumline problems (cavities) not below (periodontal).

however, due to a car accident a decade ago, i was unable to chew solid food for over a year, so, my sympathies.

5. Are you in pain? I just looked this up:

Osseous Surgery is used to modify and reshape deformities in the supporting bone around the teeth and is used when periodontal disease is advanced in nature. The bone is modified when indicated and excess gum tissue is trimmed away.

and my sisters have had problems similar to this. I hope you feel better, and I'll bet you'll feel fantastic once you heal!:hi:

8. Thought I was being this good mother
and I was ..... My extra money went to pay dentist bills for my children, left my teeth alone. Now I am paying the price but my children in their adult years have excellent teeth.
