Wine can be very frustrating.
I found a great wine that I really, truly enjoyed. I got paid and then went back to get more, and there is no more. I went to four shops before giving up and buying some of the 2002 vintage. It's okay but not as good as the 2001. The clerk said it was a really hot seller. I'm sad. :(

I was so happy to have the money to get more... I'm not used to this limited availability thing. I need to cheapen my tastes back down, I think. ;)

2. Now I'm curious
what wine was it?

My new favorite is Michele Chiarlo's Barbera D'Alba. My guy stopped stocking it and I panicked. Now it can be found easily and is on sale downtown at $8 a bottle.

5. Louis M. Martini - 2001.
Not sure if it was Napa or Sonoma, though... they make both.

Thanks for mentioning your new favorite. I'll put that down on my list to try soon. :)

9. My wine guy has 2000 and 2001
so it must still be around. I swear some wine varies bottle to bottle even within the same year.

I love that Barbera because it starts with vanilla and lots of fruit then finishes like chocolate. My other everyday red stand bys:

Beringer Stone Cellars Merlot about $5-6 great wine for the money, a little over-oaked but I like that in red wines.

Bogle Merlot, about $9 juicy, a little complexity
Blackstone Merlot, about $8 juicy, dark fruit
Coppola's Claret, $12 to $15 -- but as good as many $30 wines

6. Don't I know it!
I was sooooooo ready for more of this wine. I got two bottles of the 2002, just in case it was that good. Stupid me. :eyes:

27. You're not stupid. No reason for you to know about it. It is an app
that allows you to run Windows programs on Linux/BSD/Unix.

That stuff was like pure liquid sunshine on the palate. I went back looking for a case or two but haven't seen it since. :(

19. Yes'm, it dd bruise my feelings...
Especially since my ex enjoyed it so much, too. It convinced me to buy the good ones by the case when you can find them, though I haven't been really into wines recently.

I've still not found anything I like more. I tried some different kinds, but still prefer cab.

28. Don't do that.
We try to do what we can to help the less fortunate. Take it from a guy who's an expert in beating himself up. We need to enjoy ourselves too. Life is too short.

I had a great bottle of wine on vacation- I kept the label and tried to find it at my local. They had the wrong vintage! The next year was okay- but it just didn't have the umph the first bottle had :-(
