1. Can't resist
are you gonna wear some flowers in your hair?
:D sorry and btw that sounds cool, I hear it is a great city  though no one in my family has ever been there to the best of my knowledge.

2. Welcome to my home town!
It's not perfection, but it's as close to it as you can get (IMHO) :)

Or is this just a weird spontaneous decision to move to a totally different place?

11. Rents are some of the highest in the nation
be prepared to pay through the nose. We visited relatives there back in 89 just before the earthquake. I loved the city. The temperature was just right and the best thing I found was that there were no flying bugs. No mosquitoes or flies or big fat juicy things that fly onto your windsheild at night.

14. are you gonna bicycle there?
it has a reputation for being very very hilly. Steep too, and not just rents and gas prices.

17. I Did The Same Thing
I went there for a week, and I decided to live there. I rode out Bush I's term in S.F.

It's a great city. You'll love it. You'll be blown away. The best people in America live in the Bay Area. You'll be able to have smart intelligent conversations with almost everyone there.

The history. The music. The place just rocks. It just rocks.

Congrats and good luck.

18. I went there once, on a business trip
I had a meeting way up in a skyscraper, looking down on the foggy bay and bridge. It was breathtaking.

Very cool place.

B-)

22. SF rocks :). In fact, the whole bay area rocks :)
You'll love it. Knowing your taste for music, SF and Oakland have the best underground hip-hop scene you'll ever encounter outside of NYC. You get regular club appearances by Del, the Heiroglyphics, Souls of Mischief, the Coup and a few dozen others :) Some great stuff to be heard and seen (don't even get me started on some of the graffitti in SF, some of the murals I've seen there beat the hell out of anything I've seen in NYC).

You'll love the place :).
