So my poor dog had to bear the brunt of my reaction to the Pres' Press Con
Poor Nakita! I kept pushing him away, telling him to go lay down, leave me alone, don't talk to me now, ignoring him, making him go away... during and right after the Pres' Press Con - and all the poor guy wanted was a little attention and maybe some of my food... But no, I was too irritated... so I kept sending him away. At some point I even apologized to him, told him it was all the Pres' Press Con that I was mad at but I still kept pushing him away.

So after I ate dinner, I filled his favorite bone with peanut butter for a treat. Right now he's outside, laying in his favorite grass, licking and licking, trying to get the very last little bit of peanut butter out of that bone.

Do you think he can forgive me?

It's a good think I never had two-legged children if I would treat an innocent dog like this!

1. He forgives you.
My guys are used to my reactions -- I just don't look or listen to the creep any more.

They are sensitive to our emotional outbursts to the bush's screwed up version of "reality". But if after our outbursts they get a treat -- I believe they make a connection -- dad/mom goes crazy and then I get a treat!

Thank god for my furkids -- without them I would be a raving lunatic.

2. Darned, now I gotta go yell at him...
he's over by the neighbor's house barking and won't quit....

He doesn't have many bad habits, but it's the long-term barking that does me in. I don't mind a short little "ruff-ruff-ruff" but when it goes on for an eternity, grrrr.... it drives me nuts!
