1. An intriguing question
One I'd be interested in knowing the answer to. I think they're both rippoffs of "The Heap." Unless I've completely forgotten my comic book history.

I think he was in Green Lantern first. He was a resurrected mass of organic matter that retained some memories of a corpse, except he looked like a huge pale man.

7. I think between those two, Swamp Thing came first..
Len Wein and Berni Wrightson created Swamp Thing about 1968-69 or so. Man Thing was a Marvel creation during their big monster boom of the early 1970's. Threads like this really make me miss Kephra. :(
