"Let me put it to you this way, bottom line: if any half of a Jerry Bruckheimer movie makes you cry, you are living a terrible life."
--A guy talking to a couple of guys at Safeway.

This girl just jots down little bits of dialogue or other things she sees or hears in passing.

1. what a great idea! here's one that made me laugh.
"I never get why they make you take Algebra 1, then Geometry, then Algebra 2. It's like they're trying to make you forget. Like when you're trying to remember a phone number and some ho starts saying '9... 72... 13... 4...' Just like that. I hate Geometry."
"I hate Tammi."
--Two teenage girls at the bus stop on Ashby

I hate tammi too girls. :-)

5. i think the quote you posted is so true
too bad she doesn't update more often.

have you heard of 'Found' magazine? http://www.foundmagazine.com/
The guy is hilarious. He and others pick up stuff off the street that has writing on it. I've heard him read some of the stuff-he's been on 'This American Life' ( http://www.thislife.org/ Lost in America 6/6/03)and Letterman reading letters and notes just pick up off the street and stuff.

7. one he read on TAL
Jesse-I did not take anything. I know there’s no convincing you once you’ve made up your mind. And although I cannot offer you any other explanation as to what happened to it, that doesn’t mean I did it! How could I have? You say your car was locked, and Katie had the keys. Anyway, I don’t need to take something of yours when I can get my own. It Doesn’t Make. Sense. But here’s a replacement, because I can’t STAND it when you think I’ve wronged you–Mom

I'm listening right now

"How do I get to handbags?"
"Oh, they're on the lower level, you can go downstairs right over there."
"I'm afraid of down escalators! You need to respect the fact that some people are afraid of down escalators!"
"I'm so sorry Ma'am... I didn't consider that because you took the up escalator to arrive here just now. Er... the elevators are around the corner if you'd prefer that."
"Don't you know that down escalators is how you get to *looks side to side, then whispers* Hell?"
