Kobe spends 50G to rite his wrongs
Kobe Bryant is still paying for his one-night stand.
The L.A. Lakers star shelled out $50,000 this week for a recommitment ceremony with his wife, Vanessa, who stood by him after he was accused of raping a hotel concierge two years ago.

The intimate celebration, attended by just the two of them, was held Thursday in Crystal Cove, a pristine state park in Laguna Beach, Calif.

"It was very, very private," a source close to the event told the Daily News.

So private that even Vanessa, a 22-year-old former model, didn't know what her husband of four years had planned, sources said.

When she arrived at the site, she was blindfolded so it would be a complete surprise, the television show "Extra" reported last night.

Bryant, 26, who has a seven-year, $136 million contract with the losing Lakers, spared no expense in planning the t%EAte-à-t%EAte.

A hexagon-shaped deck was built on the sand and draped in champagne fabric. A chandelier hung over the deck's table, which was set with Vera Wang china.

1. Kobe insures his wife will continue to turn her head the other way
while he cheats SHOULD be the title.

I have SO much respect for one of my best friends...she was married to a man worth 20 million dollars and had a prenuptual agreement.

She would not turn her head the other way while he repeatedly womanized and left him

(she did NOT come from money either)

2. I use to be a Laker fan, but not anymore
I started in '61, which I believe was Jerry West's first year with the Lakers. And, again I believe, was the first year for the great Chick Hearn, Chickie, baby.
I think West is a genius. I once heard that Al Davis could spot a good football player standing in the crowd in Times Square on New Year's Eve. I think West is the same way with basketball players. He was called out of retirement to 'save' the Grizzlies franchise. He will probably be called on to do the same with the Laker franchise in LA.
