First look at Brandon Routh in his new Superman costume
Edited on Fri Apr-22-05 02:58 AM by Bombtrack

http://www.usatoday.com/life/movies/news/2005-04-22-super-man_x.htm

pretty lame looking compared to how they could have done it if you ask me. They decided to alter the red in a big way instead of the blue. The blue should be much more dark royal in my opinion. That would have looked much less outdated to me than the almost baby blue they've got going now.

on edit: look at hi-res pic on post below

2. The red looks way too brown, kinda like evil superman

Otherwise the actor and the suit look fine, but Christopher Reeves is still superman, to me anyways.

4. The red is like the maroon of the Daredevil suit
I don't know why they're afraid of redness on superhero costumes.

6. Colours are off.

The blue should be a shade deeper, the yellow should be a bit more vibrant, and te red should be bright, primary red, not wine-red.

And his hair is too long at the back, and BROWN, not black as it should be. Superman has black Irish colouring (black hair, blue eyes, etc).

12. Oh. Good. Made out of rubber.
The red color is all wrong too.

But why rubber in a superhero costume, again?

5. The sheild should be bigger
and not raised, IMO. It looks like a rubber suit. Rubber suits almost always look silly.

8. I like the fact that it's not your standard fabric...

..I mean wasn't Superman's suit made out of alien material found on his ship? But the fake muscles (those shoulders and legs look "enhanced") got to go.

Why is it when Chris Reeve was Superman; the had him work out so that he was bigger for the role; but today actors just get off easy with with crappy muscle suits?

He does still look geeky though with that greasy hairstyle of his
