Every Saturday morning here in bucolic Fremont CA, the
Weekly Wiper -- I mean, the
Fremont Bulletin -- gets tossed in our driveway. Our favorite feature is "Siren Sounds", the police blotter.
Bear in mind, the below happened

Upon arrival, officers learned that Fremont Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to an address on Joseph Street and transported an adult Vietnamese male to the hospital for a finger that had been cut off.
The victim stated he was upset about something in Vietnam and cut his pinky off with one whack of a large knife, police said. The victim added that he knew what he was doing and jokingly said he "wanted some free chili", according to police reports.
The victim was admitted to the hospital's psychiatric ward and treated for his finger wound, police said.
According to police, the victim's finger was retrieved and doctors were evaluating if it could be attached.
