I love the fact that most of us HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR. bushbots, on the other hand, seem to be mostly humorless creatures.

I walked over to get my mail (community mailboxes all together) and the guy across the street, a Democrat, was there at the same time.

The community mailbox is in front of the house of a bushbot. He came out, saw us chatting and yelled "Hey, whatcha doing?"

The Dem I was talking to yelled "TALKING ABOUT COMMUNISM!"

The bushbot looked startled and said "WHAT?"

So the Dem said "PLOTTING TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"

This time the bushbot just put his hand to his ear. I knew he heard him, he just wanted to make sure he heard him right.

So then the Dem yelled "TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH FUN IT IS TO SMOTHER REPUBLICANS IN THEIR SLEEP!"

The bushbot made a face, gave us a dismissive wave of his hand and went back inside.

Well, hell, if you want to know what we're talking about, come over and ask us instead of standing on your porch yelling, Mr. Nosy Ass. We don't bite. Usually.

The Dem neighbor was really cracking me up. As we were walking off, he called out to me "Hey, have you seen Jesus today? I hear he's showing up soon." and I said "No, not today!"

 I keep telling him about DU, but he's not much for message boards.

2. I love people who take the crazy things the right wing says
about us and uses it for humor, just to highlight how crazy it is.

I was driving somewhere far away today so I had a lot of time to think and you know, on the left, we have our crackpots and crazy theories and shit, but I've seen liberals actually GET ON to other liberals for spouting tin foil stuff.

But on the right, their crazy shit has gone MAINSTREAM. No one tells them to pipe down with that tin foil stuff. The kooks took over.

Yeah, I know, probably not a new insight, I was just thinking about it.

5. The difference is restraint
We have our crazies, sure, but not in the vast numbers that the Republicans have, and they certainly aren't bullies like the conservatives. Republicans seem to have perfected the art of debate by employing one tactic: shout, and never back down from your position, even if you are proven wrong, because you can point to facts and scream that your opponent is presenting left-wing distortions.

They don't wear tinfoil hats in the Republican party - they wear tinfoil suits of armor.

3. It must be nice to have nice neighbors
I've just got the type who vote red so they can keep their guns. BUT IT BACKFIRED ON YOU ALL, DIDN'T IT? Kiss ANWR goodbye!

It's a sad thing, but a small piece of me enjoys the dramatic irony.

4. Oh now I have crazy bushbot neighbors, too.
As evidenced by that guy who kept yelling "WHAT?"

This was the same guy who defaced my Kerry sign (admitted to it) and put his bush sign right in MY front yard, facing my house, after the election.

(I disappeared it. Hey it was on MY property. He deserved to lose it.)

Nice guy, huh? Hates blacks, Hispanics, Asians, gay people. Total asshole.

8. We Dems just love to discuss our plot to turn all straight people gay.
It's one of my favorite conversation topics when talking with fellow Dems.
