3. If you want to see some real-life Anti-American Idol, see...

the "Queen" show at Paris-Las Vegas ("We Will Rock You"). The theme begins by the death of rock 'n roll caused by... none other than... the "American Idol" show.

It moves along from there in the futuristic world of crapola music which replaced rock 'n roll thanks to "American Idol" and how a few "mutants" revive rock 'n roll and save the world from the Evil Empire. :)

True - I attended the show (gratis) on Valentine's Day and it's a blast. Any one of the singers in that show can sing circles around any of the contestants that have ever appeared on "American Idol", which shows how much even Simon knows about music - Simon likes to put singers down by saying maybe they can do broadway shows or musicals but they're not American idol material. I take that as a compliment to the contestant by now.

American Idol sucks.

Except I must say tonight's show was by far the best bunch of performances I've seen to date over the few years Fox has been boomeranging it, uh, er, I mean broadcasting it.
