Let's contribute thoughtful ideas for earning extra money......
....for those who are under-employed, or whose retirement has shrunk, or who could use a few bucks for whatever reason in George's economy.

(Okay, keep it clean, though)

2. eBay obviously is a huge opportunity...
...for a lot of people. Sell things you have around the house, or really get into a business selling collectible items or buying at flea markets for re-sale.

Many, many, many people make a lot of money off eBay. You have millions of potential customers around the world, 24 hours per day.

3. Has anyone.....
...had any experience making food items in a home kitchen for retail? There seem to be a lot of opportunities to do that, but health department restrictions apply. I've heard that some people rent a church kitchen or lodge kitchen to do their cooking -- good for the organization, too.

5. If you have land....
....you obviously could grow something to sell. Herbs for the farmers market, baby vegetables for the restaurant trade, etc.

Is anyone doing farmers markets?

How about craft or art shows?

6. A couple of years ago, when the baby really was a baby, I started
typing up real estate appraisals for my next door neighbor...It escalated into setting up her appointments and the typing. It was good money $10 an hour (when she paid on time), that led to another appraiser, who I typed for (and still do) and get anywhere from $10 to $25 an appraisal. He doesn't pay by the hour. that one really brings in some good money. The upshot is, that I recently went to appraisal classes and got my limited license. So I train with the neighbor, still type, and when the baby, who's really not a baby anymore, is in school full time, I can be full fledged and set my own hours, and keep all the money...to give to the right causes of course...

8. wow!
That's great. I know people who do medical transcription at home, but I didn't know about real estate appraisals.

7. How's about "make ready" cleaning work for new construction?
With 2 people.....you could do the make ready work for new construction in your area. Sure, it's cleaning....but it's clean dirt! And you can charge by the job...so work FAST.

I don't think I would be inclined to do make ready for apt complexes.....yikes.....imagine some of the grime in used apartments.

Naked 'Bambi' hunts...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=102&topic_id=20408&mesg_id=20408&page=2

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (Reuters) -- Outraged by a Las Vegas company that claims to offer men a chance to stalk and shoot naked women in the Nevada desert with paintball guns, women's groups and government agencies were scrambling to find a way to shut down such "Bambi" hunts...

...Krekelberg said the company has so far hosted 18 "Bambi" hunts in undisclosed locations around Las Vegas. In each, a hunter faces off with two women dressed in nothing but sneakers, each of whom receive $1,000 and can earn up to $2,500 if they make it through the hour without being struck by the paintball, he said.

please note: I AM SPARTACUS finds absolutely NOTHING amusing about the deep cultural sickness manifest in a "Bambi hunt"...
